Classes

Essential Information

Before you start

Everybody is welcome at my classes – however Pilates is not recommended during pregnancy or for 3-6 months after giving birth. Classes are pre-booked and paid in advance, and all participants need to complete a form (called a Par-Q) before attending. I like to have a brief chat with you before you join a class so we can discuss the right class for you and any adaptations you might need.

About the Classes

The following classes are one hour long and small-group. There are three levels plus an equipment option:

Beginners – a gentle class for people with little/no experience of Pilates or who don't want to work too hard.

Intermediate – classic mat-work Pilates for people with good understanding and experience of Pilates and who like a thorough work out (some regressions and progressions are offered for those transitioning between levels).

Equipment – a class for people who have some experience of Pilates and would like to extend their practice using tools such as the foam roller, fitball or ring.

Advanced – a full-on boot camp for those who enjoy being challenged and who have significant experience of Pilates at intermediate level.

What to bring

For hygiene please bring your own mat, a standard yoga mat is fine. You should also bring some water to drink and wear stretchy comfortable clothing. It is also a good idea to have a layer you can remove as it can get a bit warm sometimes. Pilates is done without shoes, barefoot or in socks. To gain the full benefit from Pilates you need to practice 2-3 times a week.
